The second Elements Showcase kicked off on Monday, August 15th in New York. Just seven months after the inaugural showcase in January 2011, the August Elements event has doubled in size and has become the preeminent showcase in North America for fragrance design, home and environmental scents and luxury skin care products.  Elements Showcase offers entrepreneurs, designers, manufacturers, distributors, buyers, the press and fragrance fans the opportunity to unite in a single venue.

The Elements showcase set a high standard for presentation back in January.  We are pleased to report the August showcase again takes place in a beautifully designed environment of light and sound, courtesy of reddymade design. The showcase has expanded to cover two floors of Skylight West this time around. Visitors to the showcase have all their senses delighted by clean and elegant visuals, gorgeous aromas, resfreshments bars offering delicious beverages and sweets, and an intriguing interactive installation by artist Gogy Esparza.
We are excited to see classic houses such as Robert Piguet and Caron presenting their products alongside new niche companies such as MCMC and established niche houses such as Bond No 9 and Juliette Has a Gun.
This beautiful ring is unique.  It’s made of gold, jade, saphires and diamonds. Under the big jades stone there is a solid perfume of rare snow lotus. This plant grows in cool arctic regions and it smells of their blossoms’ white beauty: tenderly floral, fragile. The ring costs $9,000.
A notable trend for this showcase was the emphasis on men’s products—skin care lines, fragrances and even candles aimed at the male market.  The photo above shows fragrances and men’s grooming products from Portland General Store.
The project revolution by Lisa Kirk is the scent of blood, smoke, pain and terror—all mixed together! The fragrance was developed by one of the Elements Showcase organizers, Ulrich Lang.
The growing interest in natural ingredients and ecological or sustainable packaging was also evident in many of the products.  The soaps in the photo below are from Tay.
Watch Fragrantica in the coming days and weeks as we highlight some of the most exciting products and companies from the August 2011 Elements Showcase. If you’re in the New York City area, you can check out the showcase in person. Elements continues on August 16th, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
