“Curation” has become the single most ubiquitous business-buzzword bingo winner since “synergy” in the 1990’s. In that spirit, reading, “The Elements Showcase presented curated offerings in the field of fragrance design,” made me a little dubious at first. However, after speaking with co-founders Uli Lang and Frederick Bouchardy, as well as some inaugural showcase attendees and participants from this past January, I was enraptured! Everyone simply raved!
The use of “curation” in their mission statement aside, The Elements Showcase, a “cutting-edge fragrance installation” featuring 80+ offerings from “the most progressive figures in fragrance, from perfume to personal care to home ambiance” is an olfactory overload junkie’s wet dream.
Those offerings include Bond No. 9, Santa Maria Novella, Anthousa, Boadicea the Victorious, Carthusia, DayNa Decker, DL & Company, D.S. & Durga, Duchess Marden, Eau d´Italie, Esteban, État Libre d’Orange, The Hype Noses, Ineke, Joya, Belle Fleur, MCMC Fragrances, Keiko Mecheri, Lorenzo Villoresi, Lubin, Nasomatto, Nejma, Nez à Nez, Profumi del Forte, Sage Fragrance, SoOud, and Ulrich Lang New York.
